ClearFeed is built on the belief that social media should be transparent — and that starts with how we handle your data. Your privacy and security are our top priority.
ClearFeed uses a browser extension to capture publicly visible information from your Twitter/X feed as you scroll. The captured data includes post content, author metadata (such as follower count), engagement metrics (favorites, comments, quote tweets, replies, retweets), hashtags, mentions, and whether a post is promoted. This data is sent directly from your browser to ClearFeed's servers — no intermediary services involved.
Data submitted to ClearFeed is analyzed using the following models hosted on our servers:
Promoted content detection and word frequency analysis are computed directly from your feed data. All models run on ClearFeed's own servers — your data is not sent to any external AI provider or third party service.
ClearFeed uses Django's built-in authentication system to manage user accounts and sessions. Passwords are hashed using Django's default PBKDF2 algorithm and never stored in plain text. Session tokens are stored as secure cookies and are used to authenticate requests from the browser extension to the server. Users can log out at any time, which invalidates their session immediately.
You have full control over your data. At any time, you can request a complete wipe of your user data from our database, including all analysis and associated information.
